Why Bologna, Italy Should Be Your Next City Break

One of the best things about living in the UK is we have so many incredible cities we can visit in Europe that only take a few hours to get to on the plane. I don't know about you, but my city break wish list is so long, however I've got one more city that you'll need to add to your list - Bologna

I'll be honest, before this trip I had never even heard of Bologna - my boyfriend said to me "apparently it's the food capital of Italy", and like anyone I took very little convincing after hearing that sentence! We ended up with Bologna after we played what I call the "Skyscanner game", go on Skyscanner and put which city you will be flying out of and then select 'Destination: Everywhere' along with your intended travel dates. It gives you all the cheapest flight options, so it's brilliant if you want to go on a city break but don't know where to go!

5 Things I Learned in 2017

All of a sudden it has reached that point where the current year is drawing a close, and everyone you speak to says "...seriously, where did the time go?!". Normally when I reflect back on a year, I can't think of any major things that jump out. However this year has actually been a bit of an exception for me, hitting the other side of 25 has definitely metaphorically marked something - and it just so happens that I have had a lot of life changes this year as well.

It's interesting turning 26, because you do start to notice that suddenly your life has become more, dare I say it...adult. Don't get me wrong, mortgages and tax still confuse the hell out of me, and I will eat baked beans for dinner on the odd occasion - but I guess your outlook changes, along with the people around you. I've also noticed this year that the strong friendships you have, are almost stronger than ever.

The Best Spots for your Canadian Roadtrip

Last month, my boyfriend and I went away to Canada for 2 weeks on a road trip through Alberta and British Columbia. It was honestly the most incredible trip of my life. I'm lucky enough to have been to Canada a few times before as I have some family out there, which was part of the motivation for going again. However on this occasion I wanted explore as much as I possibly could over the span of 2 weeks!

Summer Pasta Salad Recipe

Now that we have hit August, we are definitely well into BBQ season. A BBQ is nothing without the variety of salads and sides that accompany it though - some grilled halloumi, a fresh green salad...and my favourite. A pasta salad.

My Thoughts on Vegetarianism

I've been a Vegetarian for going on 10 years now, which really is a long time and a large chunk of my life. I get asked about it a lot, and I don't always express my views on it unless asked because I don't really believe in shoving it down people's throats. And to answer a question people may be thinking - no, I don't eat fish. It has a face. Oh and it's an animal, so there's that.

Sorry, as a British person sarcasm is ingrained in me! But if I had a penny for every time someone had asked me that...well you get the idea.

How to Motivate Yourself, and Cast Away Self Doubt

I actually wrote this blog post a few months back and just left it in my drafts folder unsure whether I was going to do anything with it, I was going through a particularly flat phase in terms of feeling like I wasn't achieving what I wanted to in life. Which in hindsight is totally ridiculous, I'm 25. How many people have their entire life sorted out by the age of 25? If at any age?

How to Create an Epic Halloween Costume on a Budget

Blimey, I haven't done a blog in ages! I've been pretty rubbish the past few months and I can only apologise for that. I really love writing these blog posts, but I've been working 7 days a week since July - so as you can imagine I've had very little time to catch up with myself, particularly as I work in a career that requires so much extra self promotion.

As I result I am KNACKERED, but it's all going to come together now I have started my new radio show on Juice 107.2 in Brighton (which I am mega excited about).

Anyway, Summer is finally drawing to a close. And my goodness it's been amazing hasn't it? The UK were pretty lucky this year, we all bang on about wanting a nice Summer all year long and in 2016 we actually had one. Next on the list is Autumn. I love Autumn, I think its actually my favourite season. The colours of the leaves are beautiful, and I can start throwing on knitted clothing and ankle boots again, and don't have to stress about covering myself in SPF 30 every day. And with Autumn, comes Halloween...
